Initial Start up story

Daya Apparel (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated in 1992 under the 200 Garment Factory Programme in the rural region of Ampara, beginning with 50 sewing machines. Today, the business generates a turnover in excess of USD 30 million and provides employment to over 2,500 individuals with 8 factories in the East and South East of Sri Lanka.

Current capability

Daya Apparel is specialized in Woven bottoms with a capacity of over 450,000pcs per month and producing a wide range including cargo shorts & pants, chinos, flat front shorts & pants, denim jeans, caprices and skirts

With its marketing office located in Colombo (Pepiliyana ) Daya Apparel has a highly professional marketing, merchandising & sourcing team which is able to provide one stop customer solutions and has a fully equipped Sampling and CAD room, utilizing the latest Lectra system.

The Apparel unit at Ampara is fully equipped with 40 manufacturing lines, ready to serve customers with quality apparel wear and is under expansion to increase capacity by a further 20 % to go up to 50 lines by mid of 2013.


Services offered

Fully equipped washing plant which can offer the full package

  • Dry Process which includes grinding / ripping / curing ovens/pp spray,
  • All types of Wet Process which includes Garment dying (reactive / pigment / over dyeing) Enzyme / Stone Wash / special washers as DWR (durable water repellency) / anti bacterial / Mosquito repellency etc.
  • Washing Capacity of 20,000pcs/day.

In-house Embroidery plant (2 x20 headers + 1 x 12 heads) which work for 24 hrs/day  on two shifts offering free design services to customers

  • In house printing, with a capability of doing up to 6 colors on semi automation

The business adheres to the highest levels of international compliance and holds the WRAP Gold certificate for social compliance, GSV (Global Security Verification) Green Rating issued by USA Customs & Border Protection as well as Sedex & C-TPAT approvals. Furthermore, only Oeko-Tex certified chemicals are used in the washing process.
